Engineer Notes
- EC401-10 is single-port ESB coupler for AFV FIO controller rack, different from EC401-50 and dual-port EC402.
- Redundancy configuration: install two EC401-10 in slot7 and slot8 of FCU rack. Automatic seamless switchover if one coupler fails, no interruption to I/O control.
- Max 9 FIO node units per ESB bus segment; do not exceed node quantity limit to avoid communication overload.
- Supports hot swap. Faulty EC401-10 can be pulled out and replaced while FCS remains online.
- ESB bus wiring should use dedicated Yokogawa ESB cable; separate routing from high voltage power cables to avoid EMI and communication dropouts.
- Check front panel LED indicators for power, ESB link, fault and redundancy health during commissioning and routine maintenance.
- Only works for CENTUM VP FIO/N-IO system; incompatible with legacy CS3000 DCS hardware.
