It communicates with HIS operator stations, engineering stations via dual redundant Vnet/IP, and interacts with FIO/N-IO I/O nodes through ESB bus. Two CP451-10 modules can be configured as 1:1 hot standby redundancy; bumpless automatic switchover occurs if the primary CPU fails without process interruption.
