Description

Product Overview

Part Number: 5466-257

Manufacturer: Woodward

Product Series: MicroNet TMR Turbine Control System

Type: TMR High Density Analog I/O Module

5466-257 is Woodward MicroNet TMR high-density analog I/O module, designed for triple modular redundant gas/steam turbine and large compressor control systems. This board handles analog process signal acquisition and control output. It can be configured as 16 single-ended analog inputs or 8 differential analog inputs; analog outputs support 8 single-ended or 4 differential channels, plus 8 built-in discrete digital input channels for auxiliary status monitoring. It accepts 4-20mA / 0-10V analog signals from transmitters and outputs 4-20mA control signals to field valves and actuators. Installed in MicroNet TMR VME rack and works under TMR triple voting logic. Widely used in power generation, oil & gas plants for turbine control spare parts, system overhaul and retrofit.

Engineer Notes

  1. 5466-257 is TMR high density analog I/O module, used in triple redundant MicroNet rack. Not interchangeable with simplex analog modules.
  2. Differential input mode is recommended for noisy field sites to suppress common-mode interference from long instrument cables.
  3. The 8 onboard discrete inputs are for auxiliary contact status monitoring only, not high-speed interlock signals.
  4. Field analog wiring must adopt shielded twisted pair cable; single-point grounding of cable shield following Woodward EMC requirements.
  5. Not hot-swappable; full rack power shutdown required before removing or inserting the module.
  6. Conformal coated PCB improves reliability in power plant cabinets with dust, humidity and mild corrosive gas.
  7. End of original production, only available as spare inventory for legacy MicroNet TMR turbine control maintenance.
  8. Front panel LED indicators for module run, fault and channel diagnostics for quick field troubleshooting.

Pre-Shipment Test Protocol

  1. Visual inspection of PCB, front panel, edge connector, components and part number marking
  2. Analog input accuracy test for all AI channels (4-20mA / 0-10V)
  3. Analog output calibration test for all AO channels
  4. 8 discrete input channel functional test
  5. Front panel LED indicator verification
  6. Backplane edge connector continuity and insulation resistance test
  7. Hardware revision and label verification
  8. Anti-static & shockproof packaging inspection

Buyer FAQ

Q: Is Woodward 5466-257 new original? A: We supply brand new original Woodward units, 12-month warranty, factory test certificate available on request.

Q: What is the difference between 5466-257 and 5466-253? A: 5466-257: high density analog only module (AI/AO + DI). 5466-253: HD Combo I/O with MPU speed input and proportional actuator valve drive, for turbine governing.

Q: What signal types does 5466-257 support? A: 4-20mA and 0-10V analog signals, plus 8 auxiliary discrete digital inputs.

Q: Can 5466-257 be hot swapped online? A: No, it is non hot-swappable. Rack power must be cut before replacement.
