Description

Product Overview

HMI211 is a remote human-machine interface panel designed for Cummins PowerCommand generator control system. It communicates with PCC1301 / PCC1302 genset controllers over proprietary PCCNet protocol, allowing operators to remotely monitor genset operating data, perform manual start/stop, switch operating modes, view alarm/shutdown logs and adjust unit parameters. This rugged membrane keypad LCD panel is widely deployed in standby and emergency diesel generator control cabinets in power plants, data centers and industrial facilities.

Key Features

  1. PCCNet Remote Communication: Uses twisted-pair PCCNet bus for long-distance connection to PowerCommand controllers, enabling remote installation away from the generator skid.
  2. Full Genset Real-Time Monitoring: Displays AC voltage, current, frequency, kW, power factor, engine speed, coolant temperature, oil pressure and battery voltage.
  3. Manual Operator Control: Supports manual start, manual stop, fault reset and mode selection between AUTO / MANUAL.
  4. Event & Fault History Storage: Stores warning, pre-alarm and critical shutdown event logs for post-failure diagnostic review.
  5. Front Panel Status LEDs: Quick visual indication of operating state, warnings and generator shutdown conditions.
  6. On-site Parameter Configuration: Authorized users can adjust genset protection setpoints and operating parameters via menu navigation.
  7. Sealed Rugged Construction: IP65 front panel sealing, dust and splash resistant for generator room and industrial cabinet environments.

Applications

  • Power plant emergency backup diesel generator control cabinets
  • Data center standby genset remote operator stations
  • Hospital, commercial building critical power generator monitoring
  • Oil & gas on-site and offshore backup genset control
  • Combined-cycle plant auxiliary emergency generator supervision

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • Use the supplied gasket during panel cutout mounting to preserve IP65 front sealing integrity.
  • PCCNet communication cable must be 22AWG twisted pair, shielded; separate it from high-current power cables to reduce electromagnetic interference.
  • Assign unique PCCNet node address before power-up to avoid network address conflicts.
  • Inspect membrane keypad wear and LCD backlight brightness during routine maintenance.
  • Download fault logs and run functional tests during scheduled generator exercising.
  • Verify firmware compatibility between HMI211 and PCC controller before replacement.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between HMI211 and HMI220? A: HMI211 is monochrome text-based LCD for PCC1301/PCC1302. HMI220 is upgraded color graphic HMI with trending, graphical screens and support for newer PowerCommand controllers.

Q: Can HMI211 communicate with non-Cummins generator controllers? A: No, it uses proprietary PCCNet protocol and only works with compatible Cummins PowerCommand PCC controllers.
