The Emerson 1C31227G01A is revision A of the 8-channel analog input personality module for the Ovation distributed control system. It pairs with compatible Ovation I/O base electronics to convert 4–20mA field transmitter signals into digital values for the Ovation controller. This personality card supports HART pass-through for remote transmitter configuration and diagnostics. OEM production has ended; available stock consists of surplus or refurbished tested replacement units for power generation, boiler controls, pulp and paper, and water treatment DCS racks.

- Front panel LEDs show module health and individual channel faults. The module detects open loop, short circuit and out-of-range 4–20mA conditions. Open transmitter wiring is the most common field fault.
- HART pass-through allows HART communicator access to connected smart transmitters. Verify HART communication wiring and loop resistance before commissioning.
- Use shielded twisted pair cable for all analog input field wiring. Separate sensor cables from high-current power lines to reduce electrical noise and signal drift.
- Revision A hardware is a variant of 1C31227G01. Cross-check Ovation controller firmware and point database configuration during replacement. Minor register mapping differences may require point scaling adjustment.
