Description
Product Overview
The HIMA F8650X is a safety central CPU module for HIMA HIMatrix PES H51q safety systems. It adopts a dual synchronized 32-bit Intel 386EX processor architecture to execute safety application logic, perform continuous cross-comparison between two processors for fault detection, and manage I/O bus communication, system diagnostics and safety shutdown logic. It serves as the core safety controller for SIL3 safety instrumented systems, widely used for ESD, F&G and turbine safety protection in critical industrial sites.

- Restore rack power; observe boot sequence, verify no CPU or I/O fault LEDs active.
- Connect programming tool to download safety application and validate logic execution.
- Perform fault injection test to confirm the module transitions to predefined safe state.
- Verify diagnostic display correctly reports faults and event logging functions.
Application
Emergency shutdown (ESD), fire & gas (F&G), turbine protection and burner management safety systems in oil & gas refineries, chemical plants, power generation and pipeline facilities.
FAQ
Q: What safety level does F8650X support? A: It is SIL3 certified in accordance with IEC 61508 for safety instrumented functions.
Q: Can F8650X work with Ethernet directly? A: No native Ethernet port; Ethernet communication requires additional HIMA communication modules such as F8627X.
Q: What is the purpose of the backup lithium battery? A: It retains SRAM data, fault logs and system parameters during main power outage.
