Description

Product Overview

The Basler DECS-200-2L is a microprocessor-based digital excitation regulator (AVR) built for synchronous generators used in power utilities, industrial powerhouses and marine power systems. This dual-channel model employs PWM power stage technology to precisely adjust exciter field current, controlling generator terminal voltage, reactive power and power factor. It integrates multi-limiter protection logic, sequence of event recording (SER) and oscillography for fault analysis. The unit supports front-panel HMI local setup and PC configuration via BESTCOMS™ software. DECS-200 series is end-of-manufacture, and DECS-200-2L is widely stocked as critical spare for existing generator excitation retrofit and maintenance.

Installation Instructions

  1. Perform lock-out/tag-out and fully de-energize generator PT/CT circuits and control power supply
  2. Wear ESD protective gear to prevent electrostatic damage to circuit components
  3. Install unit into control cabinet panel cutout and fasten mounting hardware
  4. Wire voltage sensing inputs, exciter field output, auxiliary control supply and communication cables strictly per Basler wiring diagram
  5. Connect PC via RS232 and use BESTCOMS™ to load generator parameters, tune PID gains and configure limiters
  6. Restore power, perform no-load voltage build-up test
  7. Complete generator paralleling test, VAR control check and protection function simulation; commissioning must be completed by certified generator excitation technicians
