Product Overview
The Emerson 5X00502G01 is a 16-channel universal analog input module for the Ovation distributed control system. It accepts configurable current and voltage signals from field transmitters, pressure sensors, flow meters and temperature transducers, converting raw analog readings to digital values for the Ovation controller. This module does not support HART communication. OEM production has ended; available stock consists of surplus or refurbished tested replacement units for power generation, boiler, pulp & paper and water treatment DCS racks.

Engineer Notes
- This is a fully integrated I/O module; no separate personality card is required. Hot-swap is permitted only when site lockout/tagout procedures are followed.
- Front panel LEDs indicate module health and per-channel fault status. The module detects open wiring, shorted loops, underrange and overrange input conditions.
- Each channel can be individually configured for current or voltage signal type within the Ovation point database. Confirm signal range settings before commissioning to avoid measurement errors.
- Use shielded twisted pair cable for all analog input wiring. Separate signal cables from high-current power wiring to reduce common-mode electrical noise.
- This module does not supply loop power. Current-mode 4–20mA transmitters require external 24VDC field supply.
- Apply ESD controls during handling. De-energize rack power before module removal or insertion if hot swap is not approved. After replacement, calibrate all channels and verify point scaling.
